Favorable Ruling on Innocent Spouse Petition
We received a favorable ruling today from the IRS. Related to an Innocent Spouse Petition that we filed on behalf of a client in Tyler, Texas.
She had gone through a difficult divorce. After the divorce was over, she and her ex-husband received a notice from the IRS that $361,000 was owed to the IRS. Related to under-reported earnings during the marriage.
During my initial interview with her, she stated that she was totally unaware of the income that the IRS alleged was earned, nor any knowledge of the tax that the IRS alleged was owed.
